Who we are, What we do
CONTRACTING
With the development and expansion of renewable energy sources we have broadened our area of operations to cover all of Scotland. With our many years of experience of working in remote areas and under extreme conditions we feel that we can offer a commercially aware estimate for any of your future projects. We have successfully completed many projects across Scotland, from wind farms and hydro schemes to infrastructure for the Forestry commission. Please see our projects page for more information.

Our two most recent Hydro schemes are:
- Inver Hydro Scheme
- Braevallich Hydro Scheme
We currently have 2 low loaders / tippers. All our machines can be delivered with our purpose built trailers.
We have successfully completed 6 wind farms, constructing and preparing the infrastructure necessary.

Our History
GEORGE MCNAUGHTON & SON
George McNaughton and Son, established in 1975, has grown organically to become the West Coast of Scotland’s premier earthmoving and civil engineering contractors and plant hirer. The company is run by founders Janet and George McNaughton along with their son.
We contract all over Scotland. George McNaughton and Son has developed from a single machine to a company employing around 50 operators on various items of plant from 1.5 ton – 42 ton excavators, 3-30 ton Dumpers and crushing plant.
We offer self drive plant hire and have our own ready mix batching plant 2 low loader / tippers which can transport across most of Scotland and can both take up to 40 tonnes.
